Just the other night by the Lake of Enghien. There's been a lot of beautiful sunsets recently. I really love the pattern of the railing against the lake.
No tripod, just handheld. At 1/50 second, it's about the limit for me. I find wedging my arms against my body and then waiting until I begin to exhale before taking the photo really helps to keep the camera steady. But a tripod would be nice. ;)

The Aminus3 posting coincidence continues with 2 sunset type pictures on the same day. The three white lights against the red background make the shot. I believe the rule of thumb for non-blurry, hand-held shutter speeds is 1/focal length. You may have been able to go to 1/30 and still have a sharp focus shot.

WOW!! You guys are setting the standard today. Another FANTASTIC sunset picture (can you tell these are my favs) and I agree that the 3 white lights let us know the evening has begun. The pinks, oranges, and yet still we see blue sky against the shadowy black tree line(above and in the distance) and fence make for a breathtaking shot. The intricate iron railing adds an artistic touch to this photo. Great shot Aaron.
Brilliant shot, the lights and railing add interest to an already amazing sky and reflection. You get some really great fire in the sky type sunsets near your house!
