We set out early one morning to explore the untamed savanna that was the golf course behind our apartment. As we approached the pond, Jason screamed out "alligator" and we all ran over to take a look. Jason was kind enough to lend me his camera since I was the only one brave/stupid enough to get this close (although with a 400mm lens, it wasn't really that close).

Wow! Is it true that they run fast and you have to run in zig zag because they can't turn very well?

Well Jane, we have not really tried to verify this theory but we all had our heads turned for a second and we heard a splash ... the alligator had returned to the water ... pretty fast !

Brave to get so close. I like the texture.

What Aaron does not show is the part where he wrestled the gator into submission. Jane - if you see Aaron wearing a new pair of gator skin boots when he gets home to Paris you will know where they came from !

I like the little turtle just behind the alligator. I wonder what she is thinking at the moment. Probably something like : "Ooops". One of the most frequent last sentence in a life on earth.
