The faithful mountain guide dog

Posted by Aaron Schmidt (Auckland, New Zealand) on 21 April 2005 in Animal & Insect.

She met up with us just outside one of the villages and proceeded to follow us up into the mountains as we hiked to the next village. It was a solid 40-minute walk just to get up there but she never faltered. And when we reached our destination and turned around to go back down, she was right there beside us. She would often run off into the forest, disappearing for a while but you could always hear her bell ringing in the distance. What a life! With miles upon miles to roam and no restrictions, she was a very happy dog.
