3 days of Bourg St. Maurice

Looking through my collection of photos from the weekend trip to Bourg St. Maurice, I noticed these three very similar pics captured from the balcony of the Roger and Audette (the parents of Philippe). So with a little twisting and turning and cropping and cutting, here's the result: a 3-day collage displaying a warm, sunny Friday, a cold, windy Saturday and full-blown snow storm on Sunday.

The village you can see in the background is Seez (Seez means 6 -sextus- because Hannibal is supposed to have put his 6th boundary (borne milliaire in french) here).
I spent 4 or 5 years here in the late 80's studying at the left of the photo, near the church, and riding horse in the centre-right of the photo, in the Seez swamp, you can see the wood around the swamp from this point of vue.

Nice place, I swear ! :)

Definitely my favourite landscape pics from Bourg-Saint-Maurice. I love the car ... it is like driving trough the 3 pictures, well done !

Hervé, it is funny because we had Lise's baptism in the church of Séez and had an after lunch walk in its swamp (well, more in the park that surrounds the swamp ;) ).

Anyways, it was truly amazing to live through those 3 days experiencing a whole year's season !

Aaron - great idea for a post and quite scenic too. Funny how a little thing like weather can change the way we perceive and view the same place.

What was the exposure in the middle to get that car streak and what is the cluster of shiny white faries in the top photo?!

The middle pic was shot at F/20 for 1.3 seconds. I used the timer on my camera so it was just pure luck the car came by when it did. The fairy lights in the top photo is just the sun reflecting off a metal roof.
