This is one of the two knight and horse statues that stand at the entrance to the cathédral of Sacre Coeur in Montmartre. The airplane in the distance was unintentional but a pleasant surprise upon reviewing my photos.
When I saw the plane in the picture I started thinking about how the person who created this statue could never of imagined this scene. How quickly the world advances and the background scenery changes for each new generation. Not only will my children have better photography equipment but they will also have a completely different world tapestry to capture their pictures upon.
And I think that's what is magical about photography ... the act of being witness to a moment in time.

Oh, yes. How right you are. To the knight and his horse, in their heroic age, any airplane they might have imagined would clearly have been only a gnat or mosquito. That's what you eye or your camera must have intended (!) to say.

Yesterday I went to Le Sacre coeur, I did not notice this statue, since I was at home and look at my photo, good job.

Aaron, I was just about to say the same thing what you mentioned in the last 2 paras. But then......
I like the milky sky!

Thanks for all the comments. bfn - I didn't think about seeing the plane from the point of view of the knight, as a fly in the sky, so to speak ... it's an interesting point. There's really three views, the knight himself, the artist and the photography, each existing in a completely different time and seeing the current worldview in a different way. Three worldviews ... Aminus3? ;)
