Aurelie and I were fortunate enough to be invited to a Maori presentation for the end of year exams at the University of Auckland. This picture is of the ceiling of the Maori meeting house on campus. The building is sacred (no shoes allowed) and the interior is covered in Maori carvings and patterned fabrics. It is primarily used by students of Maori studies.

It's very interesting to see the different kinds of art that exist all over the world. It's great to be able to share the Maori art with you. The patterns are very beautiful. The seem to be very similar to the patterns of the Aborigenees or am I wrong?
