Our first week in Auckland, it changed from sunny skies to pouring rain in a matter of minutes so we got quite used to making sure we had rain coats and proper shoes before going out (no matter how nice the weather looked). Taken up on top of the beautiful Mt. Eden (another volcanic cone), this photo shows the west of the city.

Here it is, Auckland city ... does not look very crowded, does it ? ;) this is basically the kind of view we have from our room as well as Skycity tower (I think see Aaron's pic on 07/07) that is located on the right from this pic although you can not see it.

Wow, there we have an idea of the forces of nature: after the rain and darkness the sun breaks through the clouds. What a great capture of this moment.

i'm learning lately that the most impressive light is after a storm when the clouds break away and let the sun spray!
the tree makes a nice shape to the yellow gray background.
