It's pronounced TOAW-ranga with all the emphasis on the first sylable. I'm always saying Ta-RAN-ga which, apparently, is completely wrong. So here we see the favorite passtime of Kiwis: surfing. All those tiny black dots out on the waves are surfers ... not an uncommon site for Sunday morning, no matter what time of year it is. In the background is Mt Maunganui, a beautiful volcanic cone overlooking the Bay of Plenty. Unfortunately the walking trails up Mount Maunganui were closed when we were there because of recent flooding, leaving us no choice but to enjoy a leisurely walk along the beach.

You can not really see on the pic, but there were really A LOT of surfers out there ... all ages, females and males waiting for THE wave. Really funny how the Sunday morning sport in France would be football and here it is all about surfing and/or Rugby.

Football is not the sunday sport only in France, when I visited Peru, we couldn't find a restaurant because there was a football match on TV ;o(.
Nice photo Aaron. When will you surf like kiwis ?

Lovely layers of rock, water, green mountain and sky. What time do the great white sharks feed?!

Great angle in this photo, feels panoramic. The mixture of colors add depth to all the visual.
