A closeup shot of the surfers from yesterday. There were a lot of surfers out on the waves ... I was amazed they didn't hit each other. Not a bad way to relax Sunday morning.

Great pics. I love how you captured the movements of the waves fading in the far away mountains. Also it is nice how all the colours are of the same tones giving more emphasis to the surfers and rocks.

Exact. I'd rather dive in that water ! I don't see any shark on the picture. Are there a lot of white sharks in this area ?

Is the water cold or warm? I get a cold feeling.

There's no real shark threat around New Zealand since the water isn't warm enough. In the summer the water gets relatively warm but I guess the sharks prefer to hand around Australia and snack on the Aussies.

think you are correct about where sharks prefer to lunch - mostly around Adeliaide or so I hear.
superb action shot, but how did you get it? by that i mean where were you standing?

I agree with Aurelie, the background really provides reference to the photo. It does feel almost as if you were out in the ocean close to the surfers....how did you get this photo?

There was a medium-sized outcrop of land where people could walk around. Once out there, I climbed down to water level and used my 70-200mm zoom lens to capture the surfers. This photo was also cropped in Photoshop to bring the surfers even closer.
