These birds were viscous fighters! The first bird (Bongo) was sleeping there peacefully when the second bird (Dr. Mystery) came along and attacked without provocation. Bongo was able to react quickly and get a claw into the face of the Doctor. She jumped up and charged to attack but fell victim to Dr. Mystery's patented move, "The Brain Plunger", which proved to be fatal to the young parrot. A sad tale indeed, but one that is necessary to prove who is fittest for survival.

The colors are stunning! Instead of shooting a fight scene it could also be a mating scene ... ;-)

I just lost a $50 spot on damned old Bongo...jeesh, I told that crazy cracker a thousand times to take his vitamins! Great photo!

Such beautiful iridescent rainbow-like colours to be found on wild birds!! Aaron, I think you are pulling our leg. These are not the fighting parrots that are indigenous to NZ, are they? Nice try but I am not falling for it.
