Old spider webs on the lava rocks

Last weekend, Aurelie and I went out walking on Rangitoto Island with Dave and Rina, my collegues from work. It was a good 4 hour hike up the side of a dormant volcano, taller than the Sky Tower. Most of the surface of the island is covered in lava rocks and the island boasts a large variety of plant fauna. Dave pointed out this crazy web pattern to me.
