That is an interesting looking ship in the background - a style from another age before swimming pools and plastic chairs and look who is flying freely now through the open ocean ...

This is a fun shot - so many layers and different things going on. I like balance of the big green tree and sailboat.

What are the blue and red pipes at the bottom of the picture for? They seem like they could be water cannons to be fired at oncoming pirate ghosts from the ships in the mist.

Captivating. As my computer downloads this,it appears as a motion picture panning from top to bottom--from the idyllic (tree, sea, sailboat, and charming blue stairs) to the ultimately modern (realistic, apparently abandoned pipes, tiles, concete, not so charming blue).

It's true , the different layers are really interesting, bfn described this very well. But I would have cropped this shot without the boat, it's too much. I din't know really why... this was my first impression and it does not leave me. Without the sea and the boat in the background it would have been a really cool geometric shot. But this is my idea...
Nonetheless I like the idea behind it!

Kerstin's comment interesting. On the small screen I have access to now, I cannot view the whole photo at once (frustrating!). By scrolling up and down I am necessarily cropping. What I think might be really interesting would be a display with the photo as a whole, then several details: the ones I keep coming back to are the top, say, 25%=the boat, the tree, the flag pole and those charming blue stairs; the middle, say, one-third with those colorful lounge chairs overwhelmed by the empty pool; and the bottom one-third, with the colors and angles of the pipes against the gray walls. Fascinating shot.
