With Monday a holiday here in New Zealand, Aurelie and I went away for the long weekend to Waiheke Island to celebrate Greta's 30th birthday (a colleague of Aurelie's). If you know where to look, you can actually see Greta's house up the hill on the right. It has a black roof so it's difficult to distinguish but look directly underneath the white-roofed houses in the top-right and you may see it.
The weather was beautiful and we spent plenty of time in the sun enjoying good food and drinks with some very friendly Kiwis and Australians. We even got the chance to do our first swim in New Zealand. From both Aurelie and I, a big thank you to Greta and everyone else for a wonderful weekend.

We spent an amazing week-end of fun, sun and beach. We even had our first swim in NZ on the beach from this picture ... also first swim into the Pacific for me :)
Thanks again Greta!

wow - it's hard to believe it is your first swim although I guess you needed a wet suit before... long live NZ summer.
This looks like a very peaceful beach.

A hot blue sea, a dream for swimming.

Hmmm... I would not quite call it 'Hot'. In Fact it was rather cold a bit like the Atlantic but once in it, we were fine!
