Over the weekend, in downtown Auckland, 9 firemen and 1 firewoman climbed this 10m ladder 1100 times without pause. Each firefighter reached a height of almost 11km (Mt Everest is only 8,850 m) bringing the combined total climb to an astonishing 109.59km! The 24 hour event set a new world record and raised about $15,000 for burn patients at the National Burn Centre. The 10 firefighters trained for over a year to accomplish this feat.

Looks like a flattened out Echer drawing - sounds like a good cause and an impressive feat.

What a workout. Mt. Everest is usually scaled over many weeks with a lot of rest in between.
