Do people do that to avoid finding scorpions in their shoes when they wake up in the morning ? Good technique.
I think I'd prefer put it on a stick. Nice shot. This place looks abandonned. It gives a sadness feeling.

what did they used to play at the old stadium? Perhaps they played shoe toss - first one to get their shoe on the wire got their head lopped off! These shoes must have been from some kids trying to re-live the glory days.

Some photographers do weird things like putting shoes in wires just to make their ptotographs look different. That's not being a good person, Aaron!
