If I stare at it long enough the image of the house looks like a photo pasted on to the fence. Picture taken in Brown's Bay while Aurelie was off on her driving exam for her restricted licence. She passed the test (with flying colours!) and now drives herself to work every morning leaving me to slug it out on the bus.

congrats on the driving test Aurelie! Aaron - this is great - love the lighting on the fence and outside... looks like a portal to another - somewhat boring and similar - world

Congrats to Aurelie who will drive left now (which is logical because on the other side of the earth, everything works backward) ! If you put a foot on the north of equator, and one on the south, you have 2 right hands. And 2 left hands too. That's why people don't like to live here. Because they never know if it is spring or autumn, if the right is on the left or the top really on the top.
Concerning the picture, you mastered the focus and the light. A challenge would be to try to do the same picture with a full DOF, a neat house and a neat fence. I never achieved but saw such pictures in magazines. They explained that you must use a very little aperture and long shutter time. Or you might too make 2 pictures and fusion the both in one. But I never achieved for the moment. I only achive to make full blurry pictures from the first plan to the background ! :p

Cool shot Aaron, I always have the opposite, clear background and blurred front. That 's an new idea.
