I feel this would loook better in monochrome, the colour adds nothing to the shot in my opinion,. Also crop out the green leaves sticking their head into the shot middle left.

@Suby and Sinem: Thought about going B&W but then figured there wasn't enough interesting contrast of light and dark. Agree the colour doesn't add much though.
What were you doing there? Were you attending some call from Nature?

I kind of like the desaturated look in color - makes it look scarier to me - but a B&W might be interesting.

I think the colors are just right to convey the mood. The red looks very old and dirty and gives me an idea of the surroundings :)

The parched earth makes me think this area is usually "swampy."
