Red swamp scenery

I'm not sure if the red stuff is actually swamps but it was too far away to find out for sure. More specifically there was a giant cliff right below my feet. The red stuff looked spongy in texture. Need to find out more.

Its a nice shot, according to me i could visualize this shot into two images one is the seaside and other the forest area, cropping the above image into two parts horzontally i could find two great images at one single go.
