We get a lot of cool birds in the forest behind our house. I wish I had a little bird book to determine what type of birds live out there. We even have a cute parrot couple that fly around but they are very elusive and don't stay around for long.

I like the DOF in this picture. However, the upper branch seems sharper than the bird.
We just got our 6th pet bird at home. We bought it yesterday and it's called a "Kulasisi" here in the Philippines. It's so cute because like all other birds of its kind, it sleeps upside down with one foot hanging on top of the cage.

@Ryan Yam: Yah, I think I went overboard on the sharpening... =)
Nice catch ... hopefully, you'll be able to capture the beautiful colours of the parrot's couple one day :)

What you've got there looks like a rather scruffy Tui. They're named as such due to their preference to spit at you if you get too close.

Do the birds always perch so high? One thing I always try to do is look for a new way to see things. Maybe get up higher if you could? Other than that, nice shot finding such a pretty bird.

@Kody Whiteaker: Getting higher would be difficult ... maybe on my roof. The branches these birds hang on are pretty high up in the trees tops.
