Aurelie and I went back to Muriwai Beach (west coast of New Zealand) on Monday with our guests Siba and Laura. The gannets are always up for a photo shoot. The weather wasn't quite as good as last time but I managed to get a few decent shots.

Excellent shot ! I like the depth of field and the color. Are you using the Canon 70-200 F/2.8 IS ?

@Tamatea Photography: It's the Canon EF 70-200mm f/4L. Although I'd love to have it, the f/2.8 is another $500 or so. =)
Very nice. Ilov the nature shot.

Love the sharpness of the bird on the rocks, lovely. Shame about the rock bottom left. Suby

@Suby: Actually I didn't mind the blurry foreground rock ... I thought about cropping it out but I liked the different layers of depth.
Wonderful shot.

It is already said but the DOF is excellent. The colours on the Gannet are excellent too

Very nice shot. We have the same birds here in Canada, at Bonaventure Island, Gaspesia. In French, we call it "Fou de Bassan"
