Even when cloudy, I think New Zealand can produce some fantastic landscape shots. Enjoy!

I am labeling this photoblog as "NZ Persuasion", my mum is trying to stop me from going on about NZ all the time.. but your photos just make me want to go even more. (which is a really good thing - haha)

@Jenny: If my photos offer a little inspiration, then I'm honoured. I am sure NZ would welcome you.
I love mist, and sitting in the cold starring into it... so i really enjoyed this pic :)

Great coastal shot. New Zealand sure has majestic landscapes...i like the tones in this photo, yet to me it's still a calm shot.

Nice shot. I sure like those subtle green tones. Provokes a mood in me. Thanks for sharing NZ with me.

Nice Shot there Aaron. The clouds produce a real mysterious feeling.

You're right on that mate!! This is an amazing overcast/misty day. It's got the fury of nature written all over it. Often we see such beautiful things nature has to offer but you've caught her at an angrier time in her life. Great job with the colours and shadows.

@Colour blind: Thanks ... definitely the look I was going for.
Sometimes the best shots are taken on moody cloudy days. This shot captures the muteness, quietness and calm of the area. My only complaint is to fix those dark corners! Don't crop, just use the "fix lens distortions" feature of photoshop to remove vignetting.

@Michael Zhang: I actually added the vignetting. I find it works well on dark, moody shots like these. But I guess it's a matter of preference. =)
Wow! Heavy shot. Loving the layers.

A bit underexposed, but it's a very nice picture. I love the layers

@Kelvin Chan: Underexposed on purpose to give that dark, moody feel. Photoshop kept trying to bump up the brightness but I resisted the urge. =)
...wonderful .... ethereal

Reminds me of a Turner painting. Except a little calmer...you two should really get together and chat *wink*

It does look like a painting, wonderful!

This one looks like a painting... great shot, a side of NZ i have yet to see.

@Hutchscotch: Make the trip buddy and I'll show you more than this! ;)
I think this would look nice B&W too. I'd consider cropping some of the sky because despite the interesting color cast, it is a little bland.

@Daniel: In fact I did consider cropping it out but I always crop out the uninteresting parts of my photos so I figured this time I'd leave it in to contrast the landscape. Thanks for pointing it out though! =)
