In the Netherlands we call these clouds "sheepclouds" probably cause there is a similarity somewhere..since you are a kiwi and live in sheepcountry numero uno i thought this photo to be very appropriate for you!!

Are you sure those clouds don't owe their existence to the craftmanship of someone proficient in Photoshop? I have never thought such a cloud formation would be possible. Awesome shot!
