Off the east coast of New Zealand, near Tutukaka.
And just down there I KNOW there are a whole bunch of beautiful fish, including those stingrays and maomao and probably even a Lord Howe pair or two!! I am so jealous... sigh...
Not so sure about the halo above the land mass - is this an artifact from processing?

@Bronnie: Yes halo is from post production ... I'm not crazy about it either but it's too much trouble to fix. ;)
makes me want to sail through the cave
what's a lord howe?

@Jason Kravitz: We did go through the cave ... it's larger than it looks.

Lord Howe's are wee coral fishies that don't usually venture this far south - they have black stripes and yellow and white shading over the body (yellow at top, white at bottom). A pair live just outside that cave and swim-through.
Did you go out to the twin wrecks?

@Bronnie: No didn't do the wrecks. Heard they're beautiful though.
Very special shot! If you would like to contribute some photos to my site for artistic photographers, I would be more than happy! We will post your blog's address so that even more people will have the pleasure of finding it. I hope you could find some inspiration there too. Cheers! // Ralf
